2025 Festival of Monsters
The UC Santa Cruz Center for Monster Studies 2025 Festival of Monsters takes place October 15-18 in Santa Cruz, CA. The Festival’s free public days start Wednesday, Oct. 15 with a keynote by David Livingstone Smith, author of Making Monsters: The Uncanny Power of Dehumanization, at the Museum of Art and History. The Festival’s academic conference takes place at UC Santa Cruz’s Digital Arts Resource Center on Oct. 16-17 and includes the Monsters’ Ball on Oct. 17. An authors’ panel at Bookshop Santa Cruz, a comic signing at Atlantis Fantasyworld and a game at Game Santa Cruz brings the Festival downtown on Oct. 18.
