Yokai Art arrives this Winter at UC Santa Cruz

The parade of one hundred demons is coming to UCSC!

Crossing Over: Global Transformations in Yokai Art featuring the works of Adam Cooley and Chubei Yagyu explores how yokai travel between worlds: this world and the next, dreams and reality, East and West. It will be exhibited at Cowell College’s Eloise Pickard Smith Gallery in Winter 2027.

Additionally, artists Chubei and Cooley are coming to UCSC for a week of monster programming, January 25th to 30th, including gallery tours, public art demos, and roundtable discussions.  Watch for the full schedule of events on this site!
