Centre for Monster Studies opens in Germany!

The UC Santa Cruz Center for Monster Studies is proud to announce the launch of a sister organization in Europe! The Centre for Monster Studies is spearheaded by Dr. Ekaterina Trachsel and her colleagues at the Justus-Liebig-Universität in Gießen, Germany. 

Dr. Trachsel is a longtime friend of the Center at UCSC and has collaborated extensively with Dr. Chemers, who was a co-principal investigator on the establishment of the European Centre. The Centre is comprised of scholars from across Europe and North Africa whose work colludes and collides with monsters of all kinds.

The launch of the Centre will take place on Halloween of 2026 in Heilbronn, Germany, at the Theatre Heilbronn (which, as you can see from the image, is familiar with our kind).
